Promotion of Agri-Horticulture and NTFP Based Livelihoods for Chenchu Tribes of Nallamala Hills in Amrabad Plateau (CPSK)

Introduction

The Chenchu Pragati Seva Kendram (CPSK) is a multi-activity, multi-stakeholder partnership designed to empower Chenchu tribal communities in Nagarkurnool District.

Covering 500 families across 20 villages, the programme promotes sustainable agriculture, livelihood diversification, social protection, and institutional strengthening to improve the socio-economic well-being of tribal households.

The Chenchu Pragati Seva Kendram (CPSK) initiative is multi-activity, multi-stakeholder partnership designed to empower the Chenchu tribal communities of Nagarkurnool District. Covering 500 families across 20 villages, the program has placed strong emphasis on agricultural development by promoting sustainable farming practices, introducing improved seeds, and encouraging water conservation methods. Alongside this, livelihood diversification has opened new opportunities for families through skill development, handicrafts, and small-scale enterprises, reducing dependence on traditional forest-based work and creating more resilient income streams.

Equally impactful are the social and cultural dimensions of CPSK. Social protection measures have connected families to government schemes, healthcare, and nutrition programs, ensuring vulnerable groups have stronger safety nets.
